These 9’ cypress shutters were beginning to show their age and weathering. Each shutter is being meticulously inspected to identify deteriorated sections where rot and water damage have taken hold. The damaged sections are then routed out and new wood is milled and inlaid to complete the repair. For this application, the inlay material is premium grade thermally modified poplar. We regularly use this material for exterior applications because it is extremely stable and resistant to rot and insects. Finally, after all the repairs are complete we will sand, prime and repaint to match.
