About Full Circle Design Works

Full Circle Design Works is owned by husband and wife team Steve Souder and Peggy Eng.

Steve began his career building custom furniture and cabinetwork in 1970. He formed Souder Construction after moving to St. Louis in 1988 which concentrated on residential renovations. In 1997 he added a custom cabinet shop to the business and changed the name to Full Circle Design Works, Inc. to reflect the added capacity of a full cabinet and millwork shop. His focus now is both renovations and new construction with an emphasis on projects that incorporate custom cabinet and millwork.

Peggy Eng completed her BFA in Jewelry/Metals and established a studio making one of a kind and limited edition pieces. She sold her work for over 25 years through galleries, boutiques and art fairs across the country. For almost as many years, she has had an active interest in Fair Trade. She had a singular opportunity to do product development with several artisan groups in Peru and Cambodia for eight years.

In 2018, Steve and Peggy founded Creative Edge, making handmade cutting and serving boards from sustainably grown and harvested hardwoods. The collaboration began with brainstorming a use for the remnants, or “shorts,” leftover from Full Circle's solar powered cabinetry shop. Their limited production lines and custom pieces push the boundaries of traditional cutting board forms and aesthetics, offering a variety of elegant patterns and organically inspired designs. They both have a strong commitment to ethical and sustainable production, and to using responsibly managed hardwoods and natural finishes.

Sustainability

Full Circle Design Works is very focused on being sustainable and environmentally friendly with both materials and resources. Most of the woods we use are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, the finishes for the cabinetry are formaldehyde-free and contain no VOC's, all the packaging materials for the Creative Edge boards are recycled, the shop is solar powered, and Steve even drives an electric car.
